Pet Care For Your Home

Dogs may be man’s best friend, but they can certainly do damage to your hardwood floors. We love our pets, but we want to make sure we protect our hardwoods from any accidental damage that our pets may inflict on them.

Here are some tips to keep them in perfect shape if you have pets in your household:

Use a carpet with a rug pad underneath in high traffic areas: You can hear your dog bounding down the stairs to welcome you home after a long day at work, but their nails can scuff up your hardwood floors on their way to see you. If you place carpets and rug pads in the areas that they usually travel, you can save your hardwoods from severe wear and tear. Additionally, the carpets may prevent some of the debris from outside when your pets come back in. Plus, the additional padding can help save some wear and tear on your pets’ joints as well!

Keep their nails trimmed/Nail caps: It’s essential to keep your pets well-groomed, and their nails are no different. Keeping them filed down can prevent damage to your floors to a minimum. Additionally, nail caps can be used to cover dog’s nails as well, helping to protect your floors even more. Plus, nail caps come in different colors!

Keep your floors clean: Our pets can bring us a lot of love and affection, but they can also bring in a lot of dirt and grime as well. Make sure to sweep your floors, specifically with a sweeper designed to pick up dust and dog hair. Nothing can take away the beauty of hardwood floors like pet hair all over the ground.

True harmony between your pets and flooring simply means a little extra care from you (with both)!
